Lion Wanda became a Lion on August 4, 1987 and is a member of the Logansport Lions Club. She has served as President of both the Monticello Area and Logansport Lions Clubs, Zone and Region Chairman, Youth Exchange and Environmental Chairman, Cabinet Secretary, and Cabinet Treasurer. Wanda has been a counselor at Youth Exchange Camp Friendship and received the Bangladesh Governor’s Appreciation Award. Other awards received are an International President’s Certificate of Appreciation, an Extension Award, a Melvin Jones Award with four Progressions and a W. P. Woods Award. She is a Key Member who has attended six International Conventions and USA/Canada Forums, has participated in the Lions International Senior Leadership Forum, and serves as First Steps Representative for Cass County.
She graduated with honors from Kendall College, Indiana University, and IUPUI. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honorary. Lion Wanda is now retired after thirty years of teaching elementary and middle school students. During her teaching career, Wanda served as President of the Twin Lakes Classroom Teachers’ Organization, Roosevelt Middle School Team Leader, District Uniserve Chairman, and Representative to ISTA and NEA conventions. She has been married to PDG Glen for thirty-two years, and they have hosted four youth exchange students and raised two Leader Dog puppies. Although they have no children, they do have two dogs and three cats. They have enjoyed the small-town life in Monticello for over thirty years. Lion Wanda is excited about the opportunity to serve the Lions of District 25-C as DG.
