Third Annual Awards Night

This evening Zionsville Lions honored "those who serve" during their Annual Awards Dinner. Lion Darryl Johnson received Lions highest National recognition -- the Melvin Jones Fellowship.  Lion Ralph Stacy was recognized for his contributions with the State's highest Lion honor -- a W.P. Woods Fellowship.  Lion Linda Guthrie was voted "Lion of the Year" by the membership of the Zionsville Lions. Lion President Jim James recognized Treasurer Mike Shafer, and Committee Chairmen Lion Mike Baker (July 4th. Celebration), Lion Harold Wright (Concert Series), and Lion Linda Guthrie (Fall Festival) for their leadership roles and extra efforts with specific events.  Service awards were presented to 5 Lions with 10, 20, and 50 years of service.  Two NEW Lions, Ted Blosser & Gerald Resler were inducted into the Zionsville Lions Club.  Zionsville Lions also recognized Leaders in the Community with Citizen of the Year honor going to Town Council Preesident Dick Crane.  Special recognition was given to Rick Riggen, Dave Heinzman, Lion Pat Mckee, Tom McCoy, and George Tikijian for their Leadership and service minded attitude in the community. The evening concluded with District Governor Mary Henry installing the Officers and Directors for the coming Lion Year. Outgoing Lion President Jim James gave a brief overview of this past Lion Year and passed the gavel on to the incoming President Lion John Williams.
